Man strangles his three-year-old child to death

The incident, which took place yesterday in an apartment in the Çamaltı neighborhood of Yayladağı, has caused great sorrow in the district. According to the information obtained, 28-year-old Muhammet Emin Torluk, who worked as a laborer for a municipal organization and was alleged to be a substance abuser, strangled his young son, Poyraz Yetkin Torluk, for reasons yet unknown. It was learned that the father, Torluk, was in the process of divorcing his wife and that the family had been experiencing problems for some time.

After committing the act, Torluk went to the Köşrelik neighborhood where his own father lived. Suspicious of his son's behavior, the grandfather asked where little Poyraz was. Unable to get an answer from his son, the grandfather immediately reported the situation to the Yayladağı District Police Department.

Upon receiving the report, police teams went to Muhammet Emin Torluk's home and discovered the lifeless body of the three-year-old child.

Torluk, who attempted to flee at that moment, was apprehended by the teams and taken into custody. Little Poyraz's body was taken to the morgue to determine the exact cause of death.

Muhammet Emin Torluk, who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested by the court and sent to prison. It was stated that following the recent divorce process in the family, Poyraz Yetkin Torluk had been cared for by his father's family, while his mother had recently gone to Istanbul. While the incident has caused a deep shock throughout Hatay, the police announced that the investigation is continuing.
