May Day call from the All Pensioners' Union! Criticism of Minister Şimşek

In a statement issued by the All Pensioners' Union, the organization called on retirees to take to the streets for the May 1st Labor Day. The union also criticized Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek's remarks regarding pension payments.

"WE WILL CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE"

The union made the following statements regarding Minister Şimşek:

"We do not know at what interest rate or with what concessions borrowing occurs according to Mehmet Şimşek so that future generations are not mortgaged, but we know very well from our own struggles and experiences that borrowing from the World Bank means impoverishment, misery, and austerity for those who live by their labor."

Stating that Mehmet Şimşek's policies are mortgaging future generations, the All Pensioners' Union included the following remarks: "We, the retirees, will continue to struggle for a country that sides with labor, for our present and the future of us all, and to lead a dignified life."
