Menzil Sheikh, who participated in earthquake housing lottery, gives 'social media' advice: 'Stay away from luxury and ostentation...'
Menzil Sheikh M. Saki Elhüseyni, who owns many companies and jewelry stores, rides in luxury vehicles, and was recently revealed to have participated in an earthquake housing lottery, has called for people to 'stay away from showing off, luxury, and ostentation.' Elhüseyni also confirmed that there is an inheritance dispute within the community.
Menzil’s social media accounts published a video featuring an interview with one of the community's leaders, Muhammed Saki Elhüseyni.
M. Saki Elhüseyni, a Menzil sheikh known for owning many companies and jewelry stores, posing with luxury vehicles, and participating in an earthquake housing lottery, was asked: “There is gossip on social media about sheikhs and their families. Intentional news is being produced and perception operations are being managed. Specifically, worldliness is being highlighted. What are your recommendations to avoid giving rise to such accusations?”
According to a report by İsmail Arı from BirGün; M. Saki Elhüseyni responded to this question by saying, “One should stay away from showing off in social media posts. It is necessary to stay away from luxury and ostentation and not make social media posts about them.”
“THERE IS A DISPUTE AMONG US”
M. Saki Elhüseyni, who is known to be embroiled in an inheritance dispute with his brothers, gave the following response to the question: “It is seen that these issues have not been resolved in the Elhüseyni family even after a period of 10 months. Third parties say there is a property division problem…”
“It is true that we have some difficulties. We say that real estate built by collecting money from the community, social aid associations and relief organizations, and institutions are foundations; they are the property of the community... They should be transferred to foundations. They should not remain as trusts in the hands of individuals and companies.
In other words, we said that the community should claim its property, protect it, and manage it in accordance with its purpose. However, a full consensus could not be reached among the brothers on this issue. There are opposing views. There is a dispute among us regarding the designation of the community's conditional donations.
It saddened us deeply that the Sufis were forcibly removed from the lodges by police. The deeds for the lodges, mosques, and other assets were previously held by the Muslims in the region where they were located, but they took the deeds for these places into their own names shortly before my father passed away. They said, 'Whoever holds the deed owns the property,' and removed people from the lodges they had built.”
