Minister Tekin announced: The button has been pressed for amnesty!
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin made statements regarding the issues faced by private educational institutions and their teachers. Tekin stated that they are preparing for a criminal record amnesty. Tekin also added, "We have initiated the biometric identity verification process."
Attending the "Role of Rehabilitation Centers in Special Education and Researching Educational Qualifications Turkey Meetings" program hosted by the Special Education Confederation in Antalya, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin spoke about the support provided to special education. While Ekin Kaledibi, who has Down syndrome, hosted the program, Taylan Hartavi, who has autism, gave a piano recital at the opening.
"A TOTAL OF 30 BILLION LIRA IN PUBLIC SUPPORT PAYMENTS"
In his speech, Minister Tekin drew attention to the government's support for education, saying, "We have 3,284 private institutions within the confederation. We have approximately 700,000 students and 60,000 personnel. We are making a total of around 30 billion lira in public support payments."
"THERE CAN BE SOME PROBLEMS"
Stating that they are focused on solving problems in special education, Tekin said, "We have implemented a program called the Turkey Century Education Model. Our new curriculum treats all 18 million of our students as special. There can be some problems in special education as well. Our general directorate is working on this issue, and we will implement the regulations in the near future."
BIOMETRIC IDENTITY VERIFICATION, CRIMINAL RECORD AMNESTY, TUITION FEES
Stating that "one bad example casts suspicion on everyone," Minister Tekin said, "We need to take measures to eliminate the negatives in this field. We have initiated the biometric identity verification process. Another issue is the criminal record amnesty. After the biometric process, the steps taken in this regard will be on a healthier foundation. We are in the preparation process for some issues. We are also working on a criminal record amnesty. We experience problems every year regarding the tuition fees to be paid for children. It would be very good if we indexed the fees to a fixed indicator with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance."
