Minister Uraloğlu visits foundation linked to İsmailağa: 'My precious teacher...'

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu visited the İlkseç Foundation, which is affiliated with the İsmailağa community, on January 6. It was learned that Uraloğlu was accompanied during his visit by AKP Istanbul MP Mustafa Demir, AKP Bayrampaşa Mayor Atila Aydıner, and AKP Bayrampaşa District Chair Ersin Saçlı.

According to a report by Mehmet Oflaz from Cumhuriyet; Uraloğlu wrote the following in the guestbook during his visit: 

“My precious teacher, esteemed administrators of our foundation, I would like to express my satisfaction in having the opportunity to receive information about our foundation and to visit it on-site. I was proud to meet the young people with bright eyes who promise a bright future. May God clear your path, may God grant you success. May you be entrusted to God.”

Ali Ulvi Uzunlar, the president of the İlkseç Foundation, had previously said in a speech: “A righteous woman will obey when her husband commands. A woman who is like this is a righteous woman. The best thing in the world is this kind of woman. It does not make you very happy that 200 or 2,000 people in a factory stand at attention because the boss is coming. What will truly make you happy is your wife at home obeying you.”

In another speech he gave in 2014, Uzunlar claimed that a 'virtuous woman' is one who wears a chador, stating: “You will tell the wives of all believers to put on their chadors. This attire is the most beautiful clothing that reveals they are virtuous, chaste, and sensitive believing women. Ill-intentioned people will not make propositions to them, they will not harass them. These are chaste women. They will say, ‘They are not the type to say yes to our propositions. They are not the type to expose their bodies, to expose their breasts. These are virtuous people. One wouldn't even look at them sideways.’ This is the word of God.”
