Minister Yerlikaya also announced that an individual identified as A.Y. was detained due to an abusive video published on the social media platform (X).

Following Yerlikaya's sharing of the footage showing the detention with reverse handcuffs on his social media account, journalist İsmail Saymaz made a notable comment on his own social media account.

Criticizing the minister's post with the note 'The necessary action has been taken', Saymaz expressed his reaction with the following lines:

What kind of necessary action, Mr. Minister?

Of course, insulting a nation is a crime and is unacceptable.

However, is it an achievement to detain a foul-mouthed citizen on the street and put them in reverse handcuffs as if you had caught the murderous son of the Somali President?
