The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) reported that Infantry Specialist Sergeant Oğuz Şahin has been martyred after falling ill while on duty in Van.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, Şahin suddenly fell ill while performing his duties in the area of responsibility of the Alparslan Border Outpost in Çaldıran. Despite all interventions at the hospital to which he was transferred, Şahin could not be saved.
In the condolence message published by the MSB, it was stated, "We wish God's mercy upon our dear martyr who lost his life in this incident that has plunged us into deep pain and sorrow, and we extend our condolences and patience to his grieving family, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation."
