Ministry of Treasury and Finance issues statement regarding claims of 'selling highways and bridges'

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance regarding a news report in a newspaper titled 'Now they will sell highways and bridges,' it was claimed that the term 'sale' was not used by Minister Şimşek, but was an interpretation by the newspaper that published the report.

The statement included the following remarks:

"The perception operation conducted through this untrue expression is unacceptable.

In his statement at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), the Minister clearly referred to assets that are already in Turkey's privatization program, some of which have even been within the scope of privatization for years, and stated that 'there is no asset currently planned to be newly included in the privatization scope.'

Furthermore, it is clearly understood that our Minister did not make any statement regarding a sale in these remarks."
