New development in the AYM access crisis: Communications Directorate breaks its silence
The Center for Combating Disinformation has issued a statement regarding the inability to access the Constitutional Court (AYM) website. Denying the claim that 'the AYM website has been blocked,' the DMM reported that access could not be provided due to high traffic.
On the morning of August 2, while Turkey was debating the access ban imposed on Instagram, an access issue also occurred on the official website of the Constitutional Court.
The AYM website became inaccessible after the court announced its decision to cancel rules that could have allowed the Communications Directorate to interfere with freedom of the press and freedom of expression.

The decision, which the AYM shared on its official social media account, was deleted shortly thereafter.

STATEMENT FROM THE DMM REGARDING THE AYM ACCESS CRISIS
The Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM), affiliated with the Presidential Communications Directorate, issued a statement following reports that 'an access ban has been imposed on the AYM website.'
In the statement made by the DMM, it was noted that "The claim appearing in some social media accounts that 'the Constitutional Court's website has been closed to access' is not true," pointing to the statement made by the AYM.
The DMM's statement is as follows:
“It is out of the question for the Constitutional Court's website to be closed to access.
It has been determined that some media outlets are attempting to manipulate this issue, which is occurring due to high traffic, by associating it with 'a decision by the Constitutional Court.'
Following the Constitutional Court's decision numbered 2020/88, which was published in the Official Gazette, access to the site has not been possible for a while due to the intensity of internet traffic.
Do not give credence to baseless claims.”
Bazı sosyal medya hesaplarında yer alan, "Anayasa Mahkemesinin internet sitesi erişime kapatıldı" iddiası doğru değildir.
