As part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, journalists Murat Ağırel and Timur Soykan were detained in a dawn operation on charges of "threat" and "blackmail".
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that the two journalists were detained following a complaint filed by certain suspects, who are also suspects in another case, alleging that they were threatened by journalists Ağırel and Soykan during the process of the transfer and acquisition of the television channel Flash Haber TV.
The two journalists were taken to the Vatan campus of the Istanbul Police Department following health checks.
