New salary regulation for families of martyrs and veterans: How much will the lowest monthly payment be?

The legislative proposal, signed by AKP and MHP deputies, which envisions changes to the personal rights of the families of martyrs and veterans, will be addressed today in the TBMM National Defense Commission. If the proposal is accepted, veteran pensions will range between 58,500 lira and 68,000 lira depending on the degree of disability.

According to the report by Türkiye Gazetesi, the proposal includes regulations aimed at increasing the financial support provided to the families of martyrs, veterans, duty and war disabled, and their beneficiaries.

VETERAN PENSIONS AND CARE SUPPORT TO BE INCREASED

According to the legislative proposal, the monthly payments to be made to veterans will be set between 58,500 lira and 68,000 lira depending on the degree of disability.

The support provided to veterans with a high degree of disability who benefit from home care support, which is currently equivalent to two minimum wages, will be increased to 70,187 lira.

INCREASE ENVISIONED IN MONTHLY PAYMENTS FOR MARTYRS' PARENTS

Within the scope of the proposal, it is planned to pay 14,037 lira to the mothers and fathers of martyrs who currently receive between 7,000 and 9,000 lira per month. For those whose current monthly payment is between 15,000 and 16,000 lira, a payment of 21,500 lira is envisioned.

REGULATION REGARDING THOSE INJURED DURING JULY 15 AND THE FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM

The proposal also includes granting a monthly payment of 28,000 lira to individuals who were injured during the July 15 coup attempt but could not obtain a degree of disability.

For individuals who were injured during the fight against terrorism but do not have a degree of disability or a rated disability status, a monthly payment of 28,076 lira is envisioned in accordance with the report from the Council of Forensic Medicine.
