Number of people affected by smoke in Çanakkale fire rises to 77

The fire started around 13:30 on agricultural land in the town of Kepez. The flames grew due to the effect of the wind and spread to a forested area. Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman stated in a post on his social media account that the fire is being fought with 10 aircraft and 9 helicopters from the air, and on the ground with 75 water tenders, 35 fire trucks, 10 bulldozers, 92 other vehicles, and 760 personnel. While 2,090 citizens in high-risk areas were evacuated by sea and land as a precaution, 77 citizens affected by smoke are continuing their treatment at healthcare facilities.

THREE VILLAGES EVACUATED
