In the criminal case regarding allegations of irregularities at the Republican People's Party's (CHP) 38th Ordinary Congress, the prosecutor has presented their opinion on the merits.
The opinion stated that it was established that Baki Aydöner, Ekrem İmamoğlu, Erkan Aydın, Mehmet Kılınçarslan, Metin Gülerkaya, Nihat Yeşiltaş, Özgür Çelik, Rıza Akpolat, and Serhat Can Eş committed the alleged crime by "acting in unity of thought and action."
The prosecutor requested that the 9 defendants be punished separately in accordance with Article 112 of the Law on Political Parties and Articles 37/1 and 53/1 of the Turkish Penal Code.
Regarding Cemil Tugay, Hüseyin Yaşar, and Özgen Nama, it was requested that they be acquitted on the grounds that there is no concrete evidence within the scope of the existing evidence that they participated in the alleged crime.
Following the prosecutor's opinion, the hearing was adjourned to November 11.
