Reaction from AKP's Tayyar to Enver Aysever, who faces a prison sentence: 'A great pity'

Making striking observations about the agenda on his social media account, AKP member Tayyar shared a post regarding journalist Enver Aysever, for whom a prison sentence is being sought. 

An indictment had been prepared against Aysever on charges of 'publicly inciting hatred and enmity,' and a prison sentence was requested for the journalist.

In his statement, Şamil Tayyar described the situation as 'a great pity' and wrote the following:

"Journalist Enver Aysever has been in detention for over two months.

An indictment has been prepared against him on charges of 'publicly inciting hatred and enmity.'

A prison sentence of 1-3 years is being requested.

It is a sentence without actual jail time; even if he is convicted, it is highly likely to be converted into a fine or suspended.

Can there be an arrest in such a case?

When you consider those who have not spent a single day in prison despite receiving sentences of more than 4 years, it is truly a very sad situation.

A great pity."
