Red notice operation: 65 people wanted abroad brought to Turkey

As part of efforts coordinated by the General Directorate of Security's Interpol-Europol Department, a total of 65 people wanted abroad were captured and brought to Turkey.

It was stated that the operation was carried out in coordination with Ministry of Justice officials and the KOM (Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime), Intelligence, Anti-Narcotics, Cybercrime, Public Order, and Counter-Terrorism (TEM) units. As a result of cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of the relevant countries, the extradition process was completed for 27 people wanted internationally via red notice and 38 people wanted at the national level.

It was reported that the suspects were captured in Georgia, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Greece, and North Macedonia. It was noted that the majority of those captured were in Georgia, where 51 people were apprehended. 7 people were captured in Germany and 2 in Belgium.

It was reported that the individuals brought to Turkey were wanted for crimes including deprivation of liberty, threats, property damage, intentional homicide, intentional injury, drug use and trafficking, theft, fraud, forgery of official documents, robbery, aggravated sexual assault, money laundering, and violation of Law No. 7258.

It was stated that among the wanted individuals were 27 suspects sought internationally via red notice, as well as 38 people wanted at the national level.
