Release application filed for Tayfun Kahraman

RETRIAL EXPECTED
Following the Constitutional Court's decision, the Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court is expected to issue a "Retrial" decision for Tayfun Kahraman. Furthermore, it will be requested that he be released, taking into account the serious health problems Kahraman has been experiencing in prison.
LAWYER'S RELEASE APPLICATION
Tayfun Kahraman's lawyer, Cansu Çifçi, applied to the Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court to request her client's release. Following the application, the response from the court is awaited.
Tayfun Kahraman has been imprisoned since 2017 in connection with the Gezi Park protests. Kahraman, an urban planner, is being tried for his participation in the protests of that period and his role during that process.
