RTÜK imposes broadcast ban on school attack in Manisa

The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has announced that a broadcast ban has been imposed regarding the armed attack that occurred in front of the Turgutlu İnci Üzmez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the Turgutlu district of Manisa.

According to the announcement by RTÜK, the decision was taken by the Turgutlu Criminal Court of Peace with its ruling dated September 22, 2026, and numbered 2026/4943 D. İş. It was stated that the broadcast ban will remain in effect until the judicial investigation into the incident is completed.

Within the scope of the decision, the publication of news, interviews, critiques, and similar content in written and visual media, social media, and platforms operating in the internet environment regarding the investigation file has been prohibited.

In its statement, RTÜK emphasized that the ban was imposed due to the sensitivity of the incident and to ensure the proper conduct of the investigation. It was stated that the public should not be misled by incorrect or unverified information, and a call was made to rely on statements from authorized bodies.

It had been reported that 11 students, 2 of whom were in serious condition, were injured in the armed attack carried out in front of the school in the Turgutlu district of Manisa this morning.
