The incident occurred in the İhsaniye district of Afyonkarahisar.
Following the shooting death of 8 people in 3 separate cars with a pump-action shotgun and the injury of 1 person, the search for the suspect who fled after carjacking a red vehicle has extended to the borders of Eskişehir. Teams from the Eskişehir Provincial Police Department and the Provincial Gendarmerie Command determined that the suspect had headed toward the Seyitgazi district.
Ammunition found in the vehicle
During field scans, the red vehicle carjacked by the suspect was found stuck in mud on land in the rural Taşlık neighborhood. Ammunition was seized during the search of the vehicle.
Abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot
Initial investigations by teams at the scene revealed that the vehicle had been abandoned and the individual had fled on foot. Security forces, having blockaded the area, are continuing search and scan operations with teams equipped with bulletproof vests and long-barreled weapons, as well as aerial drone support.
