Scandalous footage in Kocaeli: Parents assault their disabled child

In the Gebze district of Kocaeli, a couple identified as S.Ç. and M.Ç. brutally assaulted their disabled son, H.K.Ç., on the stairs of their apartment building. The incident was captured by the security cameras of an apartment unit. In the footage, the father, M.Ç., is seen first kicking his disabled son and then taking the slipper off his own foot to strike him repeatedly.

During the assault, H.K.Ç. begins to scream and call for help. At that moment, the mother, S.Ç., arrives at the scene and kicks her son in the head. The footage spread rapidly on social media, sparking widespread outrage.

Following the circulation of the footage, the Gebze Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the incident. Teams from the Kocaeli Police Department took the mother and father into custody yesterday.

CHILD TAKEN INTO PROTECTIVE CUSTODY

In the incident, which caused a major stir on social media, H.K.Ç. was taken into protective custody by the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
