Sedef Kabaş outraged: Was there a police raid on the home of Aczimendi leader Müslüm Gündüz?

Following the victory of HTS-led jihadist groups against the Assad regime in Syria, the statements made by Aczimendi leader Müslüm Gündüz have drawn significant backlash. Gündüz stated that he hopes Turkey will face a similar scenario.

GÜNDÜZ: "GOD WILLING, OUR TURN WILL COME"

Speaking on a program, Müslüm Gündüz responded to the question regarding developments in Syria, "Statues and idols are on the ground in Syria. When will it be Turkey's turn?" with the following words:

"God willing, one day our turn will come. By the permission of Allah. Since they have started cleaning... There was Libya, there was Iraq... There was Saddam. It approached us from there, from there, eventually. You never know, maybe our turn will come, let us pray."

These statements by Gündüz have sparked reactions on the grounds that they target Turkey's sovereignty and constitutional order.

SEDEF KABAŞ: "WILL ACTION BE TAKEN AGAINST HIM?"

Journalist Sedef Kabaş reacted to Gündüz's expressions in a post on social media. Kabaş raised the following questions:

"Was there a police raid on his home tonight? Will a lawsuit be filed against him for treason with the requirement of detention pending trial?"

Kabaş implied that the lack of any criminal proceedings regarding these statements highlights double standards in the justice system.

LEGAL DISCUSSIONS AND REACTIONS

Gündüz's expressions fall under the scope of crimes targeting the constitutional order as defined in the Turkish Penal Code. However, no official action has been initiated regarding these statements yet.
