DEM Party Ağrı MP Sırrı Sakık met with Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek. Sakık announced that the meeting took place the day before and was “extremely productive.”

Providing information about the content of the meeting in a post on his social media account, Sakık stated that the files on unsolved murders, which have been awaiting justice for years, were specifically brought to the agenda. Sakık expressed that the case of Orhan and Muhammed, who were murdered while working at a bakery in the Diyadin district of Ağrı, was also among the topics addressed during the meeting.

According to Sakık’s statement, the meeting also included an exchange of views on European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rulings, as well as legal and humanitarian steps that could strengthen the peace and resolution process, in addition to the unsolved murder files.

''We believe that justice is the strongest guarantee of social peace and our common future.''

Stating that he hopes the meeting will lead to concrete and positive results in the near future, Sakık thanked Minister of Justice Gürlek for his hospitality and constructive approach.
