Support for Halk TV owner Mahiroğlu from İmamoğlu
Following the arrest warrant issued for Halk TV owner Cafer Mahiroğlu, Ekrem İmamoğlu issued a statement of support for the channel, saying, "Issuing an arrest warrant for Cafer Mahiroğlu based on the slander of someone he says he does not know is a clear intimidation tactic against the media that speaks the truth."
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu issued a statement of support for the channel following the arrest warrant issued for Halk TV owner Cafer Mahiroğlu.
In his statement, İmamoğlu said, "Halk TV is the voice of the people. You will not be able to silence the voice of the people with your conspiracies, nor will you be able to cover up the truth with slanderers."

"Halk TV is being targeted for punishment because it broadcast the reaction shown by millions of our citizens against the March 19 coup attempt.
