Tolgahan Erdoğan makes donation to YENİ Party with 'bathrobe message': He wrote it in the description section

Following a donation call by YENİ Party Chairman Özgür Özel, Erdoğan shared a donation receipt on his social media account, and it was seen that he had added the note "Support for the purchase of bathrobes for Ali Mahir Başarır and Veli Ağbaba" in the description section of the donation.

It was observed that the donation amount from the CHP-affiliated figure was 31.96 Turkish Lira.

CHP Kütahya Deputy Ali Fazıl Kasap had targeted the core team (the change-oriented group including Veli Ağbaba and Ali Mahir Başarır) that left the CHP under the leadership of Özgür Özel to establish the YENİ Party, and had made striking remarks.

In a television program he attended, Kasap reacted to the rhetoric of these figures claiming that "We went through difficult processes, we wore shirts of fire," and used the following expressions:

"They say they wore shirts of fire, but the only thing they wore was a towel, a bathrobe."

In political circles, this expression was interpreted as a reference to the luxury yacht/hotel entertainment of the group that left and their practice of comfortable politics. With the expressions he used in his donation description, Tolgahan Erdoğan has made a reference to this controversy.
