Following the cancellation of Ekrem İmamoğlu's diploma and his subsequent detention due to an ongoing investigation, debates have begun regarding whether the primary will take place.

In response to these claims, CHP sources have announced that, regardless of the circumstances, voters will head to the polls on Sunday, March 23. Some figures within the party have emphasized that the primary, which will determine the presidential candidate, will be held under any conditions.

VOTING WILL TAKE PLACE AT 4 THOUSAND BALLOT BOXES

On Sunday, March 23, CHP members will cast their votes to select their candidate at approximately 4 thousand ballot boxes across Turkey. Members of parliament will be assigned to each electoral district. Votes will be cast secretly with official identification documents, and the counting and tallying process will be conducted transparently. Ballot result reports will be sent to district party headquarters in ballot bags secured with plastic seals. District boards will prepare the consolidation reports and forward them to provincial boards, which will then send these reports to the party headquarters, where the results will be announced.
