Statement from Arçelik to the KAP: Decision to be made for 2,000 employees

Arçelik has announced that it plans to invest 110 million Euros in Italy and that negotiations are ongoing regarding 2,000 employees who may be affected by this process.

In a statement released by Arçelik on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was reported that discussions are underway to evaluate the long-term sustainable transformation plan for its Italian operations.

The statement, which noted that an investment of 110 million Euros is planned for Italy in the coming periods, said: "As stated in our company's special case disclosure dated November 7, 2024, negotiations are ongoing with the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy), other relevant authorities, national and regional unions, and employee representatives to evaluate the long-term sustainable transformation plan for Italian operations."

The statement included the following expressions:

"It has been stated that our goal to position Italy as a strategic hub in the field of industrial design and the cooking appliances category continues, that an investment of 110 million Euros is planned for Italian operations in the coming periods, that Carinaro is expected to continue being a center for spare parts and refurbishment, and that with the goal of increasing profitability and efficiency, resizing is planned for a portion of production operations related to laundry and cooling categories in Cassinetta, Siena, and Comunanza, while industrial transformation processes are to be initiated for another portion, evaluating all strategic options including divestment, and in any case, production is targeted to continue in the factories until the end of 2025.

Views aimed at protecting local employment have been shared by ministry and union representatives, and a re-evaluation of the proposals presented has been requested; negotiations will continue with unions and employee representatives for approximately 2,000 employees expected to be affected by the process for all our operations in Italy."
