Borsa İstanbul opens the day with a limited decline
The BIST 100 index started the day with a 0.08 percent decline at 13,399.44 points. While the banking index fell, the holding index rose.
The BIST 100 index at Borsa İstanbul began the new trading day with a limited loss. At the opening, the index fell by 11.10 points and 0.08 percent compared to the previous close, dropping to 13,399.44 points.
The BIST 100 index followed a sell-weighted trend yesterday and completed the day with a 0.35 percent loss at 13,410.54 points.
At the opening, the banking index fell by 0.52 percent, while the holding index rose by 0.46 percent. Among sector indices, the textile and leather sector was the top gainer with 0.96 percent, while the food and beverage sector saw the largest decline with 0.57 percent.
In global markets, a mixed outlook is observed due to concerns regarding the risk of new conflicts, despite ongoing peace negotiations in the Middle East.
Analysts state that the real effective exchange rate will be monitored domestically today, while the US foreign trade balance, JOLTS job openings, and durable goods orders data will be followed abroad. From a technical perspective, 13,300 and 13,200 points stand out as support levels for the BIST 100 index, while 13,500 and 13,600 points are highlighted as resistance levels.
