Bread price increased and weight decreased in one province
The bread price schedule in Erzincan changed as of today. With the new regulation, the sale price of bread has increased while its weight has been reduced.
Bread prices have increased in Erzincan. With the new price schedule that went into effect today, bread, which was previously sold at 15 TL for 220 grams, is now being sold at 17.5 TL for 210 grams.
BOTH PRICE INCREASED AND WEIGHT DECREASED
With the new price schedule now being applied in bakeries across the city, the price of bread has risen by 2.5 TL while its weight has been reduced by 10 grams. This change in bread, one of the staple products of daily consumption, has drawn criticism on the grounds that it will place an additional burden on citizens' budgets.
BAKERS POINT TO RISING COSTS
Bakers stated that a price update had become mandatory due to the increases in flour, yeast, energy, labor, and other production expenses. Sector representatives expressed that production was not sustainable with current costs and conveyed that the new price schedule was determined in line with these conditions.
With the new implementation, 210-gram bread is being offered for sale at 17.5 TL in Erzincan as of today.
