Fraudster who turned himself in due to remorse sentenced to 46 years in prison

In Turkey, a fraud incident occurs almost every day. Fraudsters often pull off massive heists, only to eventually get caught. This time, we will tell you about another fraud case. Actually, calling what happened "fraud" is not entirely accurate. Because the citizen, who was only able to collect 650 TL from people, faced a rare situation after feeling regret.

According to the news published by İsmail Saymaz in Sözcü, a citizen named İbrahim Kara set up a group on Facebook in 2017. In this group called "Active Credit," it was claimed that loans would be obtained for citizens who could not get loans from banks. However, this was not the group's true purpose. Kara was going to collect processing fees ranging from 30 to 100 TL from citizens who came to this group seeking help.

İbrahim Kara, who collected a total of 650 TL from those who joined the Facebook group, began to feel remorse. Ultimately, Kara reported himself and began to be tried at the Bursa 12th High Criminal Court. In the case of Kara, who wanted to compensate for the damages of the people, the testimonies of 14 people were taken. According to Saymaz, only 4 of them had filed a complaint. Meanwhile, it emerged that some of the parties in the case gave false testimony and demanded much more than the money they had sent.
