New era in car sales: Those without a certificate will not be able to post ads

A new era is beginning in vehicle sales. Accordingly, with the 'verified ad' regulation, car dealers without an authorization certificate will not be able to post ads.

The Electronic Ad Verification System (EİDS), established by the Ministry of Trade, will be launched on September 15 and applied to real estate trade.

The verified ad regulation will also be implemented for automotive ads shortly after housing.

Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat provided information regarding the regulation, which will also be applied in the automotive sector.

ADS CAN BE POSTED AFTER VERIFICATION

Stating that citizens who want to post ads on platforms will be directed to the EİDS, Bolat said, "Thanks to system integrations, it will be possible to post an ad only after verifying that the vehicle subject to the ad belongs to the person posting it, or to their first or second-degree blood relatives, or their spouse."

Bolat pointed out that if a vehicle is to be advertised through a dealer, the dealer must hold an authorization certificate, stating, "A dealer with an authorization certificate will be authorized by the owner of the vehicle subject to the ad before the ad is published via EİDS. With the implementation of this practice in the automotive sector, it will only be possible to authorize businesses that hold a second-hand motor vehicle trade authorization certificate, and dealers without an authorization certificate will not be able to enter ads."

Stating that the Ministry has imposed approximately 23 million lira in administrative fines to date on businesses found to be operating in the automotive sector without an authorization certificate, Bolat said that with this regulation, they aim to prevent speculative price increases by putting an end to false or misleading ads.
