Turkish Airlines revises international schedule: 11 destinations removed from long-term plan

A new adjustment has been made to Turkish Airlines' international flight schedule. According to the September 11 update from Aeroroutes, which monitors airline schedules, 11 destinations that were previously temporarily suspended and planned to resume in the 2026/27 winter or 2027 summer season have been removed from the company's current long-term flight schedule.

The latest revision shows that return plans for some of the international routes that THY suspended in April have also been canceled. While the resumption dates for some points have been postponed to the 2027 summer season, the planned return dates for 11 destinations no longer appear in the system.

WHICH ROUTES ARE AFFECTED?

On the Africa route, flights to Juba, Kinshasa, Libreville, Luanda, and Lusaka had previously been suspended until October 24, 2026. With the new update, these five points are among the destinations removed from THY's long-term flight schedule.

In Europe, Iraq, and Central Asia, the planned return dates for the Billund, Fergana, Kirkuk, Leipzig/Halle, Najaf, and Turkistan routes have been removed. These routes had previously appeared to be suspended until March 27, 2027.

Thus, it was stated that a total of 11 destinations, including the 5 points in Africa, are no longer included in the current long-term tariff. This change reveals that THY is re-evaluating its international flight network, particularly regarding certain connecting and multi-leg operations.

Aqaba and Havana are not among the points completely removed from the program. The return date previously projected for the week of October 25, 2026, for these two destinations has been moved to the week of March 28, 2027, at the earliest, with the latest update.

Uncertainty also continues for flights to Iran. It was reported that flights to Isfahan, Mashhad, Shiraz, Tabriz, and Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport are planned to resume in the current schedule starting from the week of March 28, 2027, at the earliest. However, it is considered that further changes may be made to these dates depending on developments in the region.

This process in THY's international network came to the agenda with the first schedule adjustment made in April. At that time, it was announced that flights to 18 international destinations—Aqaba, Billund, Bissau, Fergana, Freetown, Havana, Hurghada, Juba, Kinshasa, Kirkuk, Leipzig/Halle, Libreville, Luanda, Lusaka, Monrovia, Najaf, Pointe-Noire, and Turkistan—had been suspended.
