Final hours for LGS preferences: Deadline is today

The time for high school preferences based on the central exam results under the High School Transition System (LGS), conducted by the Ministry of National Education (MEB), expires today. Candidates can complete their preference procedures via the e-Okul system until 17:00.

Students make their preferences in three separate groups: “schools accepting students with central exam scores,” “schools accepting students through local placement,” and “boarding schools.”

This year, a total of 198 thousand 899 students will be placed in schools that accept students through the central exam. Of the quotas, 60 thousand 886 are allocated to Anatolian high schools, 38 thousand 700 to science high schools, 9 thousand 210 to social sciences high schools, 43 thousand 706 to Anatolian imam hatip high schools, and 46 thousand 397 to vocational and technical Anatolian high schools.

Placement in schools that accept students through the central exam will be made according to the determined quotas based on score superiority and in line with the students' preferences. In case of a score tie, the School Achievement Score (OBP), year-end achievement scores for the 8th, 7th, and 6th grades, the lower number of unexcused absence days in the 8th grade, preference priority, and, if the tie persists, the younger age of the student will be taken into account.

The quotas for schools that will accept students through the exam and their percentile ranges from last year can be accessed via the e-Okul system and the “Rota Maarif” platform.

RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON AUGUST 5

Placement results and remaining vacant quotas will be announced on Wednesday, August 5, at “meb.gov.tr”.

Applications for the first transfer preferences based on placement will be accepted between August 5-7, and the results will be announced on August 10. Applications for the second transfer preferences will be made between August 10-12, and the results will be announced on August 14.

For students who could not be placed in any school, applications to provincial and district student placement and transfer commissions will be accepted between August 17-26. The commissions will complete the placement procedures on August 28.

Boarding applications will be accepted by schools and institutions between August 31 and September 3. Boarding placement results will be announced on September 4, and registration procedures will be carried out via e-Pansiyon.
