Minister Tekin passes the buck to Mehmet Şimşek: Opposition had requested a 'bonus'
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin made statements regarding teacher appointments and the request for a bonus. Tekin pointed to the budget for appointments and to Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek for the bonus.
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin answered questions from members of the press before the AKP Parliamentary Group Meeting.
Responding to a question about when teacher appointments will be made, Minister Tekin said that they will determine the quotas allocated to them once the Ministry of National Education budget passes through the General Assembly of Parliament. Tekin stated, "We are waiting for the budget to pass, and we will make plans for new appointments."
POINTED TO THE TREASURY
Responding to the opposition's call for 'a bonus to be given to teachers on November 24,' Tekin stated the following:
"We are in consultation with our Ministry of Treasury and Finance. We are striving to solve the economic problems of our teacher colleagues. If such a thing happens, our President or our Minister of Treasury and Finance will announce it. We are striving to do everything we can within the limits of the budget regarding the personal rights of our teacher colleagues."
