The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has released its weather forecast report for Thursday, November 5. According to the report, partly cloudy weather will prevail throughout the week in the city; light rain showers are expected, especially in the early morning hours.
AKOM reported that temperatures will remain close to winter values throughout the week. Temperatures in Istanbul are expected to range between 12 and 14 degrees, while the rainy weather is expected to lose its effect starting from Sunday.
Rainy weather is forecast for the city today. The temperature, which is expected to be 10 degrees in the morning, is forecast to rise to 12 degrees at noon, drop to 10 degrees in the evening, and fall to 9 degrees at night.
In Istanbul, where humidity levels are expected to vary between 60 and 90 percent, the northeasterly wind (poyraz) is expected to blow steadily and at times strongly at speeds of 15-45 kilometers per hour. It was reported that the daily rainfall will be between 1 and 4 kilograms per square meter, and the sea water temperature is 17 degrees.
PRECIPITATION DECREASES STARTING FROM THE WEEKEND
According to the weekly forecast, partly cloudy weather is expected in Istanbul on Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7, with possible rain showers in the morning hours. Temperatures are estimated to range between 8-12 degrees on Friday and 8-12 degrees on Saturday.
The amount of precipitation is expected to be between 1-2 kilograms per square meter on Friday and 1-4 kilograms on Saturday. While no precipitation is expected starting from Sunday, November 8, partly cloudy weather is expected to continue.
According to the AKOM report, the temperature will be between 7-12 degrees on Sunday, 7-14 degrees on Monday, November 9, and 7-13 degrees on Tuesday, November 10. No precipitation is expected on Wednesday, November 11; the temperature is forecast to be a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 degrees.
Officials stated that Istanbul residents should plan their daily activities by taking weather conditions into account due to the rain showers that may occur in the morning hours and the strong northeasterly winds expected.
