Don't underestimate the Mullah
There are quite a few idioms in Turkish related to Iran and Mullahs.
The idiom “Don't be such a nane molla (lazybones), get up and do some work” is one of the most well-known references to the laziness of Mullahs.
“Whatever the Mullahs say, there is only one sin; and that is theft.”
“If you know how to speak, speak so they think you are a Mullah; if you don't know how to speak, don't speak, so they think you are a human.”
Idioms such as “Be composed so they call you a Mullah” are also used in social life.
Our closeness to Iran and the fact that half of Iran is Turkic increases the relations between the two countries.
The fact that we learned Islam from Iranian mudarris (teachers) also intensifies the permeability of our cultural unity.
But unfortunately, Iran has been subjected to the greatest attack of recent years. It was bombed again during the process of recovery following the Iraq war.
In my opinion, the greatest war of recent years was the US-Israel attack carried out against Iran.
I don't know if there has been a bigger one since the Cold War?
It is clear that Iran was caught unprepared for the war.
In the very first days of the war, the Supreme Leader Khamenei and the entire Mullah cadre were killed by smart bombs.
Only Mojtaba Khamenei survived.
They say Mojtaba was saved by his smoking habit.
Because he did not smoke in his father's presence, he was outside the courtyard during the bombardment.
Although the sudden killing of Iran's top management cadre created the perception that 'Iran lost the war from the start,' Iran managed to recover in a short time and turn the balance in its favor with missile attacks on Israel, American bases in the Gulf, and aircraft carriers.
Then, by controlling oil, it influenced the elections in America and caused Trump to stumble.
A Palestinian Muslim leftist, Muhammad, became a senator for the first time.
For the first time, a Native American Governor was elected in the state of New Mexico.
For those who are deceived by some negative idioms about Mullahs and see them as an easy target, it is useful to remind them of the idiom in the title of this article;
Don't underestimate the Mullah!
And I would even advise Mr. Trump to look at the meaning of the idiom “Be composed so they call you a Mullah!” for advice.
Let us end the subject with a Persian line so that President Trump might prick up his ears:
“Pây-ı mâr u çeşm-i mûr u nân-ı molla kes ne-dîd”
Meaning “No one has seen the foot of a snake, the eye of an ant, or the bread of a Mullah.”
In other words, Mullahs are stingy; they don't let anyone eat their bread!
