Dams in Istanbul begin to sound the alarm: Occupancy rate declines

The decline in the average occupancy rate of dams supplying water to Istanbul has continued. According to the July 28 data from the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the occupancy rate in dams across the city was measured at 55.84 percent.

In İSKİ data, the average occupancy rate was at the 56.09 percent level the previous day. With the latest measurement, a limited daily decline was recorded in the average occupancy.

Among the dams, the highest occupancy was observed at the Elmalı Dam with 88.37 percent. The lowest occupancy rate was recorded at the Pabuçdere Dam with 25.34 percent.

According to İSKİ's data dated July 28, the occupancy rates of the dams in Istanbul are as follows:

  • - Büyükçekmece Dam: 39.46 percent
  • - Darlık Dam: 73.53 percent
  • - Elmalı Dam: 88.37 percent
  • - Istrancalar Dam: 30.95 percent
  • - Kazandere Dam: 29.93 percent
  • - Pabuçdere Dam: 25.34 percent
  • - Sazlıdere Dam: 32.64 percent
  • - Terkos Dam: 46.41 percent
  • - Ömerli Dam: 79.15 percent
