Fire spreads to forest in Balıkesir: Wind intensifies flames
A fire that started in a non-forested area near Kocaavşar neighborhood in Karesi district has spread to the forest due to the wind.
A fire that broke out in the Karesi district of Balıkesir reached the forest area in a short time. Numerous teams were dispatched to the region for the fire, which started in a non-forested area near Kocaavşar neighborhood around 12:30 PM.
Following reports that the flames, which spread due to the effect of the wind, had reached the forest, emergency teams were directed to the area and are currently intervening from both the air and the ground to bring the fire under control.
No official statement has been made yet regarding the cause of the fire. While the teams' intervention on the ground continues, no new information has been shared regarding the impact of the flames on residential areas.
