Attention those looking to own a car: Prices are rising in September
As activity in the automotive market continues, Emre Özpeynirci has drawn attention to price increases in September. Özpeynirci stated that new price hikes are on the way in the market.
The automotive market is experiencing a slowdown due to high loan interest rates and rising car prices. Automotive writer Emre Özpeynirci has announced that there will be price hikes for automobiles in September.
The statements made by Özpeynirci on his social media account are as follows: "A currency-driven price hike for automobiles is on the way in September. The automotive market, which exceeded 94 thousand units in July, is projected to reach 85 thousand units in August. We are entering the final week; we will wait and see."
This is driven both by the advantage held by domestic vehicles with 'national type approval' to sell non-GSR2 vehicles until August 31 (an extension had been granted), and by the impact of purchases made due to concerns that 'price hikes are coming' following recent exchange rate increases.
Industry officials say that an average price hike of 5 percent in September is inevitable due to the exchange rate. At this point, the euro/dollar parity is more significant than the exchange rate increase itself. Naturally, the rates will vary from brand to brand and model to model.
"The GSR advantage for domestic vehicles is also coming to an end as they transition to GSR2, which means a price increase. In short, September will be a difficult month, and it will also serve as an indicator for the rest of the year."
