Millions are waiting for the final meeting for the minimum wage, which will be determined this week. No figure was discussed at the 3rd meeting. Following that meeting, TÜRK-İŞ demanded a 74 percent raise for 2025.

TÜRK-İŞ DEMANDED 74 PERCENT

TÜRK-İŞ, which requested a 74 percent raise, meaning 29 thousand 583 liras, also underlined that they would not sign off on any offer below this figure. Citizens, whose money in their pockets is melting away in the face of high inflation, want a raise that will help them get out of this bottleneck. Although the minimum wage negotiations are nearing an end, the fourth meeting is expected to be held tomorrow or on Wednesday.

HOW MUCH WILL THE MINIMUM WAGE BE?

Speaking to AHaber, Chief Social Security Inspector İsa Karakaş announced the raise rate being discussed behind the scenes for the minimum wage. Stating that employers also have an expectation of a 25 percent increase for the minimum wage, Karakaş used the words, "In this case, reaching a consensus will be difficult. We can say that there will be an average figure."

Calling it a balance figure, Karakaş made the following statements regarding the minimum wage hike:

"Our prediction is that the employer side and the government will come together, and based on the minimum wage support figure, a gross wage of 26 thousand 500 liras has currently gained weight as a balance figure. When we deduct the worker's social security and unemployment insurance premium of 3 thousand 975 liras, a net minimum wage of 22 thousand 525 TL has started to gain weight."

Karakaş said, "When we consider the recent statements of our President, we can say that it has become highly probable that a figure between 22 thousand 500 TL and 23 thousand 500 TL will emerge. We see it as highly probable that it will go up to a maximum of 24 thousand TL."
