Russian President Putin: "We are close to creating cancer vaccines"
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that cancer treatment research is ongoing in his country, saying, "We are close to creating what are known as cancer vaccines and new-generation immunomodulatory drugs. I hope they will soon be used effectively as individual treatment methods."
Putin spoke at an event called the "Future Technologies Forum" held in the capital, Moscow.
Pointing out that more than 500 cancer treatment centers have been opened across Russia in the last five years, Putin stated, "High standards have been established nationwide regarding diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. As a result, more than half of oncology cases are now detected at the initial stage."

During the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccines such as Sputnik V and Sputnik Light were developed in Russia and were sent to some countries in addition to being used domestically.
