The share transfer made by former minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya before the liquidation decision and her social media post from two days prior have returned to the agenda in the fund investigation conducted regarding transactions in capital markets, for which she was arrested.
According to information reflected in the prosecutor's referral for arrest, Kaya exited a fund in September with 2.17 billion lira, having invested 163 million lira in April. It was stated that the liquidation decision regarding the funds was taken on September 17, while Kaya disposed of her shares on September 16.
The referral document stated that the shares in question were not sold on the market; they were transferred to Tera Yatırım Menkul Değerler AŞ via wire transfer, and the share price was deposited into Kaya's account on the same day. The document also included an assessment that Kaya was in dialogue with Tera Group executives.
EMPHASIS ON TIMING IN THE REFERRAL DOCUMENT
Drawing attention to the fact that the share transfer was made one day before the liquidation decision, the prosecutor's referral document included the following assessment: “Considering that the sale transaction here took place on September 16, that is, 1 day before the liquidation, and as stated, the suspect's dialogue with Tera Group executives, and the high value of the investment despite being a first-time stock market investor, it is seen that the suspect knew the price movement range of the share and also carried out the transactions knowing that the liquidation decision would be made.”

Following these findings in the investigation file, Kaya's post on September 15 also drew attention. In her post, Kaya had congratulated the Ministry of Justice for operations aimed at protecting citizens' budgets and the functioning of the markets.
In the post in question, Kaya had used the expressions, “Under the leadership of our President, we have a strong cabinet and a strong state that does not allow injustice and lawlessness against those who attempt all kinds of schemes so that expensive morsels can pass through our nation's throat for their own interests.”
In the same post, it was said, “I congratulate these operations carried out under the leadership of our Ministry of Justice against those who set price and cost traps for our nation.” According to the information reported, this post was hidden after the transactions in the fund investigation were revealed.
