Detained on stage: Rapper Uzay arrested for terrorist organization propaganda
Rapper Uzay, who was detained during a concert in Çeşme due to song lyrics allegedly containing praise for a criminal organization, has been arrested and sent to prison.
An investigation was launched in the tourist district of Çeşme, İzmir, following allegations that rapper Erol Can Güncü, known by his stage name Uzay, used expressions in his song lyrics that praised fugitive criminals and criminal organizations.
The incident occurred during a concert held at one of the district's popular entertainment venues. Organized Crime Bureau teams went on stage during the performance and detained Güncü. It was reported that after the detention process, the artist was referred to the courthouse following his interrogation at the police station.
Following his statement to the prosecutor, Uzay was arrested and sent to prison by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on the grounds that he legitimized or praised the methods of criminal organizations that resort to force, violence, or threats, and that he also encouraged such actions.
