Frightening 'hot weather' warning from experts! 'It poses a threat to health and the environment'

Turkey has come under the influence of a warm air wave originating from Africa, starting particularly in the western regions. Meteorological experts state that temperatures will rise 10-12 degrees above seasonal norms. Temperatures reaching 16 degrees in the Marmara region, especially in Istanbul, and 18 degrees in the Aegean are being observed. Experts point out that these weather conditions could be dangerous for human health and the environment.

HOW HIGH WILL TEMPERATURES RISE?

Meteorological expert Dr. Güven Özdemir, in a statement to Hürriyet, said that temperatures across Turkey will continue to rise. The expected temperature values by region are as follows:

Marmara: 6-16 degrees

Aegean: 9-18 degrees

Black Sea: 7-18 degrees

Central Anatolia: 2-14 degrees

Eastern Anatolia: -13 to 1 degree

Mediterranean: 4-20 degrees

Southeastern Anatolia: -4 to 15 degrees

It was also noted that temperatures will remain lower in high-altitude regions.

A DRY WEEK

No precipitation is expected in the new week. Dr. Özdemir said, "The probability of precipitation in the first 10 days of February is quite low. This situation could lead to temperatures rising even further. However, we anticipate that air temperatures may return to seasonal norms after February 13." This picture points to serious problems, especially in terms of agriculture and the environment.

HEALTH WARNING ISSUED

Dr. Özdemir emphasized that air quality may drop due to high pressure in the air and that this could have negative effects on human health. He stated, "Air pollution may increase in the morning and evening hours. For this reason, it may be beneficial to wear a mask when going outside." It was noted that the elderly, children, and individuals with respiratory ailments should be particularly careful.

With only a few days left until February, these unusual temperatures are being described as "alarming" by experts. Dr. Özdemir said, “Temperatures in the 16-20 degree range are not normal for this season. This situation once again reveals the effects of global warming.”
