Volkan Konak: 'Those who oppress women are not one of us'
Famous singer Volkan Konak treated his guests to a Black Sea-themed night at a venue in Yeşilköy the other evening. While chatting with the audience, Konak stated, "Those who oppress our women, who are a gift from God, are not one of us."
Speaking to reporters before the concert, Volkan Konak addressed the rise in violence against women in recent years.
Konak stated, "Those who oppress our women, who are a gift from God, are not one of us. If there is someone in your circle with this nature, cut off all contact... The sin and the burden are on my shoulders."
In recent weeks, claims had emerged that singer Volkan Konak was quitting music following a post he made on his social media account.
'I AM IN THE CHOIR OF NOBLE PEOPLE'
Correcting the misunderstanding, Konak had stated that he was not quitting music:
"Friends, it seems what I said was misunderstood. I stated that I would not sing in the 'political choir.' As always, I will continue to sing my songs in the choir of honest, civilized, and noble people. Final word; long live love, long live science, long live art..."
