13 of 14 wildfires in Adana and Osmaniye under control

In a statement issued by the Adana Regional Directorate of Forestry, it was reported that a total of 14 fires occurred on the aforementioned dates, starting in rural areas of Adana and Osmaniye before spreading to forested lands.

It was stated that 10 of these fires broke out in Adana and 4 in Osmaniye. It was noted that the fires in the Karacaören and Kurtlar neighborhoods of Osmaniye's Düziçi district, as well as the İlbistanlı and Menziletli neighborhoods of Kadirli district, have been brought under control. In Adana, it was recorded that the fires in the Çukur, Çatalan, and Mavriyan neighborhoods of Karaisalı district; the Çörten, Aydın, and Malıhıdırlı neighborhoods of İmamoğlu district; the Gültepe and Kılıçlı neighborhoods of Sarıçam district; and the Gökkuyu neighborhood of Çukurova district were extinguished through the rapid intervention of teams.

It was announced that the fire that started in the Boztahta neighborhood of Kozan district grew due to the effect of the wind and approached residential areas, and has not yet been brought under control despite intensive aerial and ground intervention.

It was reported that the flames, which particularly threatened residential areas in the Karacaören neighborhood of Osmaniye's Düziçi district and the Mahyalar region of Adana's Kozan district, were brought under control through the coordinated work of the teams without any loss of life or property. In the Boztahta neighborhood, it was learned that two buildings were affected by the fire, but there was no loss of life.

It was stated that extinguishing efforts in the region are continuing without interruption.
