Drunk driver to police: Are you American police?

Teams from the İnegöl Police Department's Traffic Bureau conducted a sobriety checkpoint for drivers on the Ahmet Türkel Ring Road. During the operation, a driver who initially slowed down suddenly accelerated and began to flee. The teams pursued the car with license plate 16 BCC 152, which was speeding away. After a chase lasting approximately 10 kilometers, the vehicle was intercepted and brought to a stop.

"ARE YOU AMERICAN POLICE?"

The driver, Ömer K. (45), who resisted the police, was neutralized. After being subdued due to his resistance, the driver complained to the police teams, asking, "Are you American police?" In the breathalyzer test conducted, it was determined that the driver had a blood alcohol level of 3.50 promille. He was fined 11,622 TL for driving under the influence for the second time and 18,706 TL for driving without a license. The driver's license was confiscated for 2 years. The vehicle was towed to a parking lot with the help of a tow truck.

"DON'T MAKE ME PAY PARKING FEES"

The driver, who underwent the alcohol test, told the police teams, "Don't make me pay parking fees as well. I have already paid 60,000 TL in fines within 2-3 months. Let my car stay here. Why should the tow truck company make money here? I have no money, brother."

The driver was taken to the police station to have his statement recorded.
