Fire breaks out after foreign object falls into forest area and explodes

According to the information obtained, an unknown object fell in the evening hours in the Kaledoruğu locality of İlyasbey village, located in the Cide district of Kastamonu, which borders the Black Sea. A violent explosion occurred in the area where the foreign object fell. Following the powerful explosion that occurred upon impact, a fire broke out in the wooded area. Upon notification, gendarmerie, coast guard, fire department, and forestry directorate teams were dispatched to the scene. The intervention of the Doğanyurt Forestry Directorate and Doğanyurt Fire Department teams against the fire is ongoing.

On the other hand, Coast Guard Command and District Gendarmerie Command teams have taken security measures in the area where the fire broke out. The teams' investigation to determine what the foreign object that fell into the region is continues.

Ümit Turgut Aslan, who resides in İlyasbey village in the Cide district and reported the incident immediately after the foreign object fell, said, "A tremendous explosion just occurred in the Kaledoruğu locality of İlyasbey village in Cide. With the explosion, a cloud of smoke rose into the air. The fire is in an inaccessible location. The object that fell into the region caused a fire in the forest."
