Fire breaks out at a grocery store under a 5-story building in Kartal: Building evacuated
A fire that started at a grocery store in the Orhantepe neighborhood grew quickly. Fire crews extinguished the flames, and there were no casualties.
A fire broke out in the morning hours at a grocery store located on the ground floor of a 5-story building in Kartal, Istanbul. The incident on Saraylar Street in the Orhantepe neighborhood occurred around 07:00.
According to the information obtained, the fire started while the store was closed. The flames quickly engulfed the entire business and spread to the exterior of the building. The fire caused panic in the surrounding area.

Upon notification, fire and police teams were dispatched to the area. Police teams closed the street to traffic and took security measures in the vicinity. Residents of the building were also evacuated by the teams.
After approximately half an hour of intervention by the fire crews, the fire was brought under control and extinguished. There were no deaths or injuries in the incident; however, the grocery store was rendered unusable.
Police teams have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
