It is understood that the young girl missing for a year was a victim of murder: He killed his niece and poured concrete over her
It has been revealed that 19-year-old Nagihan Uyğur, who had been missing in Kütahya since April 2024, was a victim of murder. As a result of intensive work by police teams, the young girl's body was found in a well in the garden of a house belonging to her family. 7 suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
H.E.T., who applied to the Kütahya Provincial Police Department on May 4, 2025, reported that she had not heard from her sister, Nagihan Uyğur, for a year. Following this, the Homicide Bureau teams launched a comprehensive investigation to locate the missing person.
Within the scope of the investigation, the statement of O.Ç., one of the family members, was taken.
O.Ç. stated that Nagihan Uyğur had been sexually abused in the past by her uncle, Y.T., and that this situation was known to the family. According to the statement, fearing that the incident would be heard, family members decided to eliminate Nagihan Uyğur in September 2023.
THE BODY WAS COVERED WITH RUBBLE AND CONCRETE
In his statement, O.Ç. stated that in October 2023, the uncle, Y.T., strangled Nagihan to death with a rope and threw her body into a well in the garden of the house.
O.Ç. confessed that the body was covered with rubble and concrete, and that he also helped in this process. It was determined that the house in the Börekçiler neighborhood, where the murder was committed, was sold for 1 million TL in 2024.
During the excavation work carried out by police teams at the scene on the morning of May 8, the body, which was determined to belong to the missing Nagihan Uyğur, was found. The body was sent to the Istanbul Council of Forensic Medicine for autopsy procedures.
4 CHILDREN IN THE FAMILY WERE HANDED OVER TO THE PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATE OF FAMILY AND SOCIAL SERVICES
Of the individuals detained in connection with the incident, namely H.T. (23), H.E.T. (22), F.Ç. (62), E.S.T. (20), E.Ç. (35), H.T. (40), G.U. (15), and O.Ç. (37), 7 were arrested by the court and sent to the Kütahya Closed Penal Institution. While 15-year-old G.U. was released by the prosecutor's office, 4 children in the family were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services.
In the investigations, it was determined that the family members were also linked to other murders committed in the past. It was revealed that Nagihan Uyğur's father, Mehmet Uyğur, had disappeared in 2011 and was later killed by his brother Y.T. and his nephew H.U. It was determined that Y.T. lived as a fugitive for a long time after this incident and finally moved to Kütahya in 2021.
Police officials stated that the family lived in isolation from society, used no communication methods other than social media applications, and hid their identities by claiming to be earthquake survivors in Kütahya.
The investigation is ongoing.
