Man stabs wife during divorce proceedings and commits suicide
In Ankara, a man who stabbed and wounded his wife, who was in the process of divorcing him, subsequently took his own life by hanging himself.
The incident occurred yesterday evening in an apartment on Güvenlik Street in the Çankaya district. According to the information received, an argument broke out for unknown reasons between Salih A. and his wife, Saliha A., who were in the process of divorcing.
As the argument escalated, Salih A. attacked his wife with a knife. The assailant husband then committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling with a rope.
It was stated that the wounded Saliha A., who was transported to the hospital after initial intervention by medical teams arriving at the scene upon notification, is continuing to receive treatment.
While it was learned that the wounded woman is a staff member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), the body of Salih A. was taken to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute following an examination at the scene.
It was stated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
