Poisoning reported in Esenyurt following pest control: 7 people, including a baby, hospitalized
While the tragedy in which the Böcek family lost their lives continues to be discussed, news has now emerged from an apartment building in Esenyurt that seven residents, including a baby, were poisoned due to pest control spraying.
The death of the Böcek family, who came to Turkey from Germany for a vacation and fell ill at the hotel where they were staying in Fatih, has shaken Turkey.
Following these events, reports of poisoning cases continue to arrive from across the country.
Most recently, a poisoning incident occurred in a 5-story apartment building located in the Çınar neighborhood of the Esenyurt district.
According to the information obtained, pest control spraying was carried out in the basement of the building. Seven residents, including a baby, were poisoned due to the spraying, which was reportedly done with a high dose.
The seven people, determined to have been poisoned during checks by medical teams, were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
'17 MEDICAL PERSONNEL DISPATCHED'
Istanbul Provincial Health Director Abdullah Emre Güner announced that seven citizens were poisoned due to pest control spraying carried out in the basement of a building in the Esenyurt district.
Istanbul Provincial Health Director Abdullah Emre Güner stated in a post on his social media account that a total of 7 citizens, including a baby, were poisoned due to the spraying carried out in the basement of a building in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul.
In his statement, Güner noted the following:
"Due to pest control spraying carried out in the basement of a building in Esenyurt, a total of 7 of our citizens, including 1 baby, were affected by suspected poisoning. 5 ambulances, 1 UMKE vehicle, and a total of 17 medical personnel were rapidly dispatched to the scene. Following the intervention of our 112 Emergency Health teams who reached the area, our citizens were taken to the hospital. The general health status of all our citizens is good and their treatment is ongoing."
